Lava & Lolegaon are truly heavenly attractions covered by the misty and cold clouds of the hills. The rustic and exotic Lepcha village, covered by the Himalayas, will leave you stunned with its charm and beauty.

Lolegaon is another beautiful village 24 km from Lava. At altitude of 1675 meters above the sea level, it is also known for its breathtaking beauty as it is located around 1675m above sea level. You can have a serene and tranquil view of Kanchenjunga across the misty clouds to make it a great destination to relax and plan your upcoming trip. You can also have a picturesque view of the snow-capped Mt. Everest if skies are clear enough.

 

Sightseeing in Lava

Lava is located around 105km from New Jalpaiguri Junction if you are getting here by train. You can take a cab which takes around 3 hours of road trip via Kalimpong district. You need to land to Bagdogra if you are getting here by flight.

Neora Valley National Park

Lava Monastery

The Lava Jamgyong Kongtrul Monastery is one of the world’s oldest monasteries which has authentic Tibetan architecture. You can feel the peace and serenity here. It is also a serene viewpoint to explore the whole village over the misty mountains.

Samthar Plateau

Start trekking to Samthar Plateau to satiate your adrenaline rush. The trek starts from Gompa Dara in the proximity to Lava. There are also several trekking trails along the mighty hills and dense forests.

The well-known Changey Waterfalls is located around 12 km from Lava. You can access the waterfall base by cutting through the steep boulder roads. Soak in the exciting views of waters gushing below the high ranges and getting banished into the lush green foliage of coniferous forests.

Nature Interpretation Centre, Neora Valley National Park

Get a sneak-peek into what best nature has to offer at the Nature Interpretation Centre, which is located exactly at the end of the trek covered by stunning plantations and hilly vegetation. It remains open all day for tourists and visitors, excluding Thursdays.

 

Sightseeing in Loleygaon

Originally called kaffer, Lolegaon is located around 4 hours drive away from New Jalpaiguri Junction and 125km east via Gorubathan. It is just an hour’s drive from Lava.

Lolegaon Eco-Park

Opposite to this eco-park is flat land in the heart of Lolegaon village. It is surrounded by a few food stalls and local shops to shop for some souvenirs and taste the delightful food.

Heritage Forest

It is known for having dense greens that are really treated to your eyes. You can have a rejuvenating and relaxing walk down the canopy of Cypress and Oak trees.

The Canopy Walk

It is one of the best things to do in Lolegaon. This hanging bridge is around 180m long to take you along the dense forests. It feels that it goes higher when you keep walking along the tree-tops. It is truly a heavenly experience as you walk through the beautiful and breathtaking hanging bridge over the dense forest.

Jhandi Dara Viewpoint

You can capture the breathtaking views of the serene ranges of the Himalayas from this viewpoint. You can even witness the snow-capped Mt. Everest and Kanchenjunga from there.

Ralli Valley

This flat land houses the serene flora and it is also the most beautiful part of this village.
