Itinerary – North Sikkim Tour 4 days

Day 01: Gangtok to Lachen (120 kms./5 hrs./ Alt.- 8,500 ft.)

Welcome to Yumthang Gurudongmar Tour. After breakfast start your journey from Gangtok to Lachen . On the way visit Singhik View point, Seven Sisters Water Falls, Naga Water Falls, Chungthang etc. Reach Lachen in the afternoon.

Day 02: Lachen to Gurudongmar Lake (70km/ 3 hrs) . Lachen to Lachung (50 km/ 2 hrs)

After breakfast proceed from Lachen for an excursion to Chopta Valley (14,600 ft.) & Gurudongmar Lake (17,800 ft.). Gurudongmar Lake offers magnificent view of Mount Siniolchu & Kanchandzonga. Back to hotel at Lachen for lunch. Transfer from Lachen to Lachung (Alt.8,600 ft.).

Note: Please take necessary medicines if you have any breathing problems.

Day 03 : Lachung to Yumthang Valley excursion (26 km./ Alt.- 11,800 ft.)

Full day excursion to Yumthang Valley.  The valley is covered with snow during January to March & with rhododendrons during April & May. En-route visit Sulphur Hot Spring having medicinal values. Lunch at hotel in Lachung. After free at leisure.

Day 04: Lachung to Gangtok (125 km./ 5 hrs)

After breakfast transfer from Lachung to Gangtok. This is your farewell day for Yumthang Gurudongmar Tour. En-route view magnificent views high rise mountains of North Sikkim & waterfalls. Drop at your respective hotel in Gangtok. Rest of the day is at leisure.

Required Documents

  • North Sikkim – 2 copies passport size recent colour photographs & Photo ID proof (Passport/ Voter ID) for each & every guests. Minor may carry school/college ID along with photographs.
  • Foreigners need a Restricted Area Permit (RAP) to enter Sikkim. They can obtain the same from Sikkim Tourist Office at Rongpo, Bagdogra & Siliguri during office hours. All the guests must carry 2 copies passport size recent colour photographs & Passport.
  • Foreigners need a Protected Area Permit (PAP) to visit North Sikkim. They can can obtain the same in Gangtok. All the guests must carry 2 copies passport size recent colour photographs, Passport & copy of Restricted Area Permit (RAP).

 

Terms and Conditions for Yumthang Gurudongmar tour

  • Rates are not valid for festive seasons, summer vacation (May & June) & long weekends.
  • Transportation will be provided as per itinerary only (not at disposal). Any additional transport service will be on extra cost.
  • In case of AC car, AC will not be run on the hills. AC will be available in plains only.
  • Navigator India will not be responsible for any incident beyond human control, such as natural calamity, political disturbance, loss or theft of baggage etc.
  • Rates applicable for Indian Nationals only. Non Indian Nationals may avail the same package after inquiring about the applicable rate.
  • Rates may change without prior notice. Navigator India reserves the right to modify or terminate any offer any time.
  • Once the tour is booked, addition or alteration of service will be subject to availability & additional charge.

Our trip to North Sikkim for 3 nights, encompassing Gurudongmar Lake, Yumthang and Yumesamdong was planned excellently by Navigator India, courtesy Mr Saikat Das. Full credit goes to Mr Das for arranging the hotel bookings, vehicle and permits. The vehicle itself was very comfortable, and the driver, Mr Raaz, was very friendly and approachable. Not once did we face any hassle or problem during our entire trip. Mr Das and his tour agency will be our first choice for any future trips in this region.
