Sikkim itinerary for 10 days

Day 1: Siliguri/Bagdogra to Gangtok – The Beginning of Your Adventure

Welcome to ‘Sikkim tour package’. Your Sikkim journey begins the moment you step out of Bagdogra Airport or Siliguri & meet Navigator India’s representative. A scenic drive takes you along the winding Teesta River, where green hills and rushing streams keep you company. The cool breeze and mountain views instantly put you in holiday mode.

By the time you reach Gangtok, you’ll feel the change in atmosphere with cleaner skies, cool air and that crisp Himalayan freshness. After checking in, take an evening stroll around MG Marg. It’s a Mal road of Gangtok with shops, cafes, and people from all walks of life.

Day 2: Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir – A Day in the High Mountains

Wake up excited, because today you’re heading into the high-altitude region. Tsomgo Lake, at an altitude of 12,400 feet, looks straight out of a postcard. In winter, it freezes into a sheet of ice, while in summer it mirrors the snowy peaks around it. If you fancy, hop on a yak ride by the lakeside – a fun way to soak in the atmosphere.

Next, visit Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, built in memory of an Indian soldier. Locals believe his spirit still protects the area. It’s not just about faith; the setting itself is breathtaking. After a day of mountain magic, return to Gangtok for a relaxed evening.

Day 3: Exploring Gangtok – Culture, Views, and a Bit of Shopping

Today’s about discovering Gangtok itself. Start with Tashi View Point, which offers gorgeous glimpses of Kanchenjunga when the sky is clear. Ganesh Tok and Hanuman Tok, two hilltop temples, also give panoramic views.

Then dive into the cultural side with Enchey Monastery, a peaceful place filled with prayer flags and chants. Don’t miss Do Drul Chorten Stupa and the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, where you’ll find fascinating insights into Sikkim’s Buddhist heritage.

Spend your evening at MG Marg for shopping or just people-watching with a cup of hot tea.

Day 4: Gangtok to Lachen – Into the Wild North

Pack your bags, because you’re heading to North Sikkim today! The drive to Lachen is long but full of stunning scenery. Stop at Singhik View Point for jaw-dropping mountain views, and don’t forget your camera at Naga Waterfalls and Seven Sister Waterfalls – both perfect spots to stretch your legs.

By the time you reach Lachen, you’ll notice how peaceful and quiet it is compared to Gangtok. At 9,000 feet, this little village feels like a world away, with its wooden houses and dramatic mountain backdrops.

Day 5: Gurudongmar Lake – A Sacred Wonder & Onward to Lachung

This is one of the most unforgettable days of the trip. Set off early for Gurudongmar Lake, one of the highest lakes in the world at nearly 18,000 feet. The drive passes through Thangu and Chopta Valley, where snow-draped landscapes look almost otherworldly.

When you finally see Gurudongmar, it’ll take your breath away. The lake glows with shades of blue and reflects the snowy peaks around it. Despite its altitude & freezing cold, some parts of the lake never freeze, adding to its mystical reputation.

After enjoying the beauty the lake, return to Lachen for lunch and continue your journey to Lachung, another gem of North Sikkim.

Day 6: Yumthang Valley – The Valley of Flowers

If paradise exists on earth, Yumthang Valley comes pretty close. Known as the Valley of Flowers, it bursts into colour during spring, when rhododendrons bloom in every shade you can imagine.

Spend the morning wandering through the valley, taking in the alpine meadows, bubbling streams, and towering mountains. Don’t miss a dip at the natural hot springs nearby – locals believe they have healing properties. After a magical day, return to Lachung for the night.

Day 7: Back to Gangtok – A Scenic Return

Time to say goodbye to North Sikkim. The drive back to Gangtok gives you another chance to admire the waterfalls, streams, and lush forests along the way. It’s a slower, more relaxed day – perfect for reflecting on all the adventures so far. Once back in Gangtok, you can unwind with a quiet evening or a little souvenir shopping.

Day 8: Gangtok to Pelling – West Sikkim Awaits

Today continue your journey from Gangtok to Pelling, a charming town in West Sikkim known for its views of the Kanchenjunga & adjoining peak. The drive is full of greenery, mountain views, and small villages. By the time you reach Pelling, you’ll notice the vibe is calmer and more laid-back compared to Gangtok. Enjoy your evening walking around village.

Day 9: Discovering Pelling – Monasteries, Ruins & Waterfalls

Pelling is packed with sights, so get ready for a full day. Start with Pemayangtse Monastery, one of Sikkim’s oldest, where colourful murals and prayer wheels create a serene atmosphere. Next, head to Rabdentse Ruins, the remains of Sikkim’s royal capital, with sweeping valley views.

Later, visit Khecheopalri Lake, a sacred lake believed to grant wishes. You’ll notice not a single leaf floats on its surface – locals say birds keep it that way! End your day with a visit to Rimbi Waterfalls and the roaring Kanchenjunga Falls. It’s the perfect mix of culture and nature.

Day 10: Pelling to Siliguri/Bagdogra – Farewell Sikkim

Today is the farewell day of your Sikkim Tour Package. Your adventure wraps up today as you drive back to Siliguri or Bagdogra. The road takes you past valleys and rivers one last time, leaving you with plenty of memories to cherish.
